I found this website: http://www.problogger.net/31-days-to-build-a-better-blog-sign-up-with-your-friend/

31 days to a better blog. I'm intrigued. I fully admit up front I might quite this midway or even after 3 days. However, I don't want to do it without some others.

Will you join and we can do it together?

A favorite quote of mine:
"One of the most difficult things everyone has to learn is that for your entire life you must keep fighting and adjusting if you hope to survive. No matter who you are or what your position, you must keep fighting for whatever it is you desire to achieve. If someone is not aware of this contest and expects otherwise, then constant disappointment accrues. People who fail sometimes do not realize that the simple answer to everyday fears is to keep fighting. Health, happiness, and success depend upon the fighting spirit of each person. The big thing is not what happens to us in life, but what we do about what happens to us."

Shopping

We went shopping at the outlet mall here. They had a stride rite shoe store. There were these cute church shoes for Rebecca, but they weren't quite the right size. So we just have pictures and no shoes :(

My parents

Rebecca and I are having a great time at my parent's house. Last night my mom and I went to a local scrapbook store and scrapbooked. RJ stayed home with her Bear and Unkie J and watched TV and had M&M cookies. We've mainly just been hanging out and shopping and eating out. Jared got all A's on his 6 week report so he got to go to Lobster Fest.

Drop Stitch Shrug

I started this shrug awhile ago, but I ended up pulling it all out and restarting. I don't think the gauge is very accurate on this pattern. The first attempt at it, it was going to be too small. Also, I added 5 rows of ribbing and the next row I knitted all the way across to give it a ridge to show a change from the edge to the beginning of the pattern. My friend Jessica was helping me with all of this and we both agreed it made it look more finished.

Some food for thought...

Lately, the country is facing a number of problems, and the methods of tackling those problems have stirred up a huge debate. Regardless of your political leanings, you should examine the issues and figure out what makes sense, what concurs with your beliefs about how to treat people, and what will be the best thing to solve those issues based on real data and sound theory.

Here is something to consider.

The winner...

Happy Friday! Thank you everyone who has checked out my projects and left me some love. It has been great! I have a scrapbook page that I worked on all week this week. It started with just an idea in my head and I slowly put it on to the paper.

I used the burnish velvet technique with the cuttlebug and glitter. And I used 5 Unity stamps all from different sets!

Growing in Unity ~ Day 4 HIP HOP!!!

Happy Hip Hop Everyone! I made this book with a friend in mind. The idea behind it is to be a Date Night scrapbook that is all ready to go. So it is super easy for a friend, especially if they are not the scrapping kind.

I put in 12 pages, for once a month date night. All they have to do is take a picture during their date and adhere it to the left side. On the right they fill out the journaling "prompt"/box. It is instant memories.

Plus, I made little embellies to adhere to the pages. I only have seven right now, but I think I will make five more so there is one for every page.

Knitted bikini

Tuesday night we were hanging out with our friends. She showed me the bikini she knitted and it got put on RJ. Too cute.

Growing in Unity ~ Day 3

12x12 layout of my little girl dancing at my brother's wedding reception. I used the dream stamp from Trifle Sentiments, Simply Adorable from Mix-up of Cuteness and a butterfly there in the right corner, that I don't remember what set it came from. I also used the tea time toile on the left side on the background, but you can't see it in the photograph. I like the subtlety of it IRL. The paper is by Stemma.

I'm super excited about tomorrow for Hip Hop Thursday. I have this cute project that is the perfect gift for your friend who likes to go out to eat. Plus, it means I pick a winner for the Unity stamp giveaway and of course the awesome Blog Hop!

Growing in Unity ~ Day 2

Thank you for all the comments yesterday! I read every single one (sometimes twice.) Today I have a scrapbook page and a card (click on the picture to make bigger if you like).

This page I made as a RAK (random acts of kindness) in our Unity RAK group. This particular lady is pregnant with her second boy!! Her due date is the same day as her first boy just two years later! And she only happens to be less than 2 hours away from me, but I have yet to meet her. It is Ashley or HeartHugsDesign.

The stamp set was just released in February and it is called Journal Baby's Journey. It is super cute! I loved the scrapbook page Chelsea Cook (Unity DT) did for Hip Hop on 2-19, click here to see. I used the idea of the top page that is distressed to show the paper below it.

I really like this mama stamp. I used Koh-i-noor pencils to color it purple.

Here is my CAS card. I love this background stamp! Its tea time toile. I think it is just beautiful! I used versamark to stamp it and then clear ep. Velvet ribbon and a crocheted flower. Easy peasy.
I also put a layer of pink paper on the inside with a pretty rub-on in the corner.
.
Don't forget to comment for a chance at Unity Rubber (or just to make me feel special)!

Growing in Unity ~ Day 1

This week my papercrafting hobby is taking over my personal blog to post a little fun every day using Unity stamps. For day one I have an altered jumbo clothes pin! I used stamps from Mix-up of Cuteness.

I put a magnet on the back of the images and one on the clothes pin, so I can switch out the images to suit my mood.

Post a comment on this post and every other post until Thursday for a chance to win a Unity Stamp single!
