Happy Memorial Day!

Hope everyone has a great Memorial Day! We hung up our American flag over our garage yesterday and said the Pledge of Alliegance. I don't think my kids will learn it in school if we stay here in California. A big thanks to the men who serve our country both past and present. I'm so grateful for what you do!

So I went to Utah with Nina for the funeral. I did not take one picture. I ended up getting a double outer ear infection and didn't feel good for my whole trip. It was really good to see my family, though. It snowed while I was there too. Today Steve is taking his second CPA test and I'm working on my Scraptivity kit for June, so we've been busy. I've got some pictures of the girls though to post soon.

Free Time

I got my two kiddos sleeping. So what do I do? Well I have this iTunes gift card since Christmas that has been calling my name. So I'm sitting at my computer listening to music and downloading. Now it is isn't as good as the old days when I would listen on Napster and go from person to person finding no name bands that have good songs and downloading music for free, but its okay. Especially because I'm downloading some old songs that got stolen out of my car years ago and finding new stuff too. But the best part, I'm drinking some Snapple antioxidant Water Agave Melon. Love this stuff. But all of this combined brings back wonderful memories of highschool. Spending evenings not doing homework and downloading music. The water tastes alot like Rain (also a Snapple drink, which is why I'm sure they taste similar) which I used to drink back then. Fun times.

It's been awhile

So what's been going on with us. We've played with some playdo: below is a cake RJ and I made with playdo. My mom came: we shopped, we got pedicures, played with Rebecca and snuggled with Nina, Rebecca played with my mom's iPhone daily, and did some cleaning. We loved having her here and wished she didn't have to leave so soon. However, she was needed back at home. While my mom was still here, my grandfather had a stroke, actually a showering of strokes in both sides of his brain. He passed away yesterday morning. Nina and I will be flying to Utah tomorrow to join my family for his funeral. I bought some fabric squares on sale at JoAnn's while my mom was here and have started my first quilt. It is
definitely a first and no where near good, but it has been a fun learning experience.
We also went to the farmer's marker while my mom was here. I'm sitting eating the kettle corn that we got there as we speak. Yum!

CPS Sketch 166

I had a moment today that was blissful! Both kiddos were sleeping and I got to craft! I made this wedding card using the CPS Sketch for the week.

Paper, rhinestones, and pearl brad are MME Lush. The stamp is JustRite. The ink is Staz-On, plus I used some Antique Linen, Fired Brick and Walnut Stain Distress Inks. The rub-on on the inside is Fancy Pants. I made the flower with material and using this tutorial.

Hanging in there until my mom comes

I forgot how hard it is to have a newborn. All I do is make food, eat food, feed kids and try to accomplish something else. It can be so difficult to be a mom when everything you do just has to be done again. It sometimes feels like you never accomplish anything. You make dinner, but it will have to be made again tomorrow. You do dishes but more will take their place. Same with laundry and cleaning up toys and changing diapers. Can you tell what I did today? No that is because other things have already replaced what I did. But my mom comes this week and hopefully I can accomplish getting my house clean once, so then it can just be maintenance as opposed to trying to catch up from months of neglect.
The picture is RJ and I testing out the new blue camera. Thanks Dad!
