The California King Snake

April 16th, we drove home after getting a slurpee with the girls and in our driveway was this:

I helped Steve and we got it into the plastic tub.

We went for a walk and released the snake in a safer place. Hopefully he is a happy snake! It sure made for a happy dad the day after tax season is over. This was his first wild California King Snake to catch.

Snake Farm & Animal World

Steve and I had a mini trip just the two of us while in Texas. We went to the Snake Farm and Animal World in New Braunfels.

Can you guess how many snakes there are in this picture?

Burrowing

Copper was burrowing the other day and we took pics. She might be preggers. We took her to the snake store for her to try to make babies. We'll see.

Sunshine and Snakes

We have had beautiful weather lately and have spent some afternoons outside. Steve loves being able to bring the snakes out onto the lawn to play. Rebecca loves that Mo is HER snake.

For Rosa

This is my friend Rosa's brother. He visited her over Christmas. They dropped by our house just before we left to pick up my sister from the airport. Steve got the snakes out for him to hold.

We Love Copper.

We bought a new snake yesterday. Her name is Copper! She is a Dumeril Boa. She also was a rescue, like Basil, but she is nice. She has been under fed, so she is skinny, but she is healthy.

We also got a new snake cage. I'll post pics tomorrow.

Baby

Most of the people who read this blog already know. 3 weeks ago on May 1st, I had a miscarriage. I was 10 weeks along. Steve and I were very sad when I had an ultrasound and there was no heartbeat, but we trust that the Lord has a plan for us. I may not be pregnant, but we have a new baby at our house.

The Palmer's are proud to announce our new addition:

Her name is Basil, and we think she is beautiful!!

Just to give you an idea, she is about 5 feet in length. She is very strong too. For now, her and Mo will be in seperate cages. I'll blog when they finally meet!
