Being Green?

So I'm not very green. But there is this swap that is to make/buy tote bags to replace the plastic grocery bags. There have been a lot of tote bags that you can buy at Target or grocery store and then use those every time. I'm cheap because I see those totes and I think "I don't want to spend the money on those bags." Though we are spending money on the bags we use with everything we buy from the store. My mother-in-law has a few of those bags and they seem to come in very handy. She seems to always being toting one around with her, especially in the summer. Furthermore, I'm not sure if I'm ready to replace my plastic bags. I reuse them as trash bags for diapers. I don't use just the normal trash because diapers need to be taken out faster than we fill up our normal trash. Anyways, the point is that there are patterns on this swap page for making a tote. Specifically pattern 2 is awesome! It gives step by step instructions on how to make a tote that actually folds up into itself in this little pocket on the outside of it. So now I just need to find someone willing to do this with me. A holiday project to make a tote. But I won't do this swap, maybe another one.

I loooove totes! And lots of the stores around here give you 5 cents back for every one you use. Once I'm on my feet again, I'll make totes with you--I even have a ton of fabric!
