Time for the Ball!

We had friends over to play last week and I decided to host a ball. The girls got all dressed up and I put on some classical music and we went to the Ball. We got there and they all got on their cell phones! They had to call more friends to come. They were so cute and had so much fun!

San Francisco Cruisin'

A week ago we went to San Francisco and did a Bridge 2 Bridge cruise. We had a really fun time as a family and we happened to have a GORGEOUS day! No fog, and it was low 80's. Lovely.

We went to Pier 39 afterwards and Rebecca wanted ice cream. Nina was screaming to have more :)

According to my husband

He says that Rebecca has learned the "art of womanhood" which is to guilt someone into something. He says that women work off of guilt 100%. Just because my husband said it doesn't mean that he really believes this. She was "writing" my mom a note the other day that said :"Bebe, I missed you the best year. I write you a note to you remember you love me."
I thought it was sweet, Steve thought it was manipulative...maybe a little. We have a trip now for my mom to come visit ;)

FWF Christmas in June?

I joined some swaps lately for Christmas in July. So I've been doing some christmas cards. This picture isn't the best on showing the card, but you can see in the background the inside too. Plus you get the general idea and you can click to enlarge. TFL!

Playing in the toy box

Yesterday

I did some cooking and baking yesterday. I made for dinner stuffed poblano peppers. They were good. I didn't have any canned black beans except for refried black beans, so I used that in my filling. I also simplified the sauce by taking a jar of salsa and blending it up. I really liked the refried black beans, but it was all soft. I think some rice would be really good in it.

Then at night after the kids were in bed, I made some tropical mini muffins. Instead of orange extract I used orange zest and some juice (about 1 to 2 Tbl). I didn't have the wheat germ and I also added coconut. Yum! These were delicious for breakfast this morning. The girls loved them.

We went for a hike with our friends on Memorial Day in Briones Preserve. It was a little cool but lots of fun and great company!

The Flying Falafel

is a stand at our local farmer's market that I have had falafel from. Yum! Well tonight I made falafel myself. It turned out pretty good for a newbie. I more or less followed this recipe. RJ liked it. Nina refused to try it. Next time I will probably double it. Instead of cucumber sauce, I just put cucumbers and plain yogurt on my falafel and wrapped it up in some butter lettuce leaves with some cherry tomatoes on the side. Lovely, I should have taken a picture, but I ate it all gone :)
