My First Time!

I'm no longer a virgin when it comes to Digital Scrapbooking! Here is my first page. I was just playing around with it today and did it in about 20 minutes. I'm pretty happy with how my first page turned out. I did it for a Build-A-Page for May sketch from Prima.

Rabbit

Here is the card I made today for TechnoStamper's Monday Lunch Challenge. I stamped this rabbit and it looks very Easter/Spring time to me. We are kind of past that time, so I might just hold on to this card for next year. Here is a close up on the rabbit. I watercolored her. I used watercolor paper and my Marvy LePlumeII markers. I've been playing around with using markers and water and paintbrushes.










Here are some pictures of the problems I had. I don't have Staz-On ink, and I found that a pigmented ink was not enough. So I would use clear embossing powder and emboss it so it wouldn't smudge.

Then I found that I was having a problem with there being a definite line with the marker. I found that the best way to avoid this was to put water on the section first. Then use the marker and then use the paint brush to blend it. But you have to be careful not to use too much water, like in the second picture, it seeps over the line.

Blog Candy

Today I reached 2,000 Hits since December when I signed up for site meter. So I want to do blog candy. Because I don't know who actually looks at my blog I'm going to have the blog candy be specific for the person who wins. I caught Rebecca under the bed last week. She had taken my keys and was using them to try an open daddy's lock box that was under there.

More Younger Years

Here is another scrapbook page from my Freshman year. This was the Preference Dance. I am going to put journaling on the black paper with the dotted lines and I have a purple flower brad to pu at the top to attach it to the rest of the page. I did not like photographing this page. I did it 3 different times and was not happy with how it turned out still!! But oh well. You get the general idea.

I rounded the corners of the flower page and I also used a black ink pad on the edges of it (which you could tell in a better picture). I used a purple ink pad on the edges of the white frame of the bottom left hand picture and on the polka dots. The purple strip of paper across the flower page has purple thread stiched on either side.

Sketch Challenges

I made this card for a sketch challenge by Beate and it will also go along with a swap that I'm doing. The image is Suzy's Zoo, which I think is just adorable. I colored it with colored pencils. I think it looks almost faded in the picture and I like it better in person.

I also did a scrapbook page last week from my freshman year at BYU and did it for a sketch challenge by Valerie. I will maybe add some journaling under the picture on the left. Overall, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. My only issue is the glitter in the flower did turn out as well as I had hoped. Thanks for looking!

Funny Post by Someone Else

Ready to Go!!

Here is Rebecca all READY TO GO out. She has her Nemo hat, mom's lil' gold purse and dolly. What more do you need? Well everybody...do you know what day it is?!! April 15, the last day to get your taxes in!! Hallelujah! Steve and I are READY TO GO. We are heading to Napa for the night. Just Steve and me and some warm water and beautiful weather. What more can you ask for? I am so happy tax season is over!

Now there are Three!

I bought RJ a third dolly and it came in the mail on Friday. Saturday morning, when I was getting ready in my bedroom, she was being quiet. So I go out to the living room and she is sitting on her couch with all three dollys next to her and she has grabbed her daddy's baby blanket to go over her. She was just kickin' back, hanging out. She is having fun with all three dollys.

Just a Note

So I made this card yesterday. I thought it was okay, but it needed something. So I got on to SCS and posted a thread and asked for help. I was given some amazing advice. I gave much consideration to many of suggestions and ended up with the second picture. Which I uploaded and then had another thought that it still needed more. Thereby giving us the third picture. So there was my process. I am so happy with one of my very few original, non-cased designs. I especially love the little dot in the center of the flower. I got a pack of 24 metal dots at JoAnn's for $1. They are silver. I didn't think silver would go with this, so I decided to make it brown. I sanded it ever so slightly to help with things sticking on it. Then I rubbed my brown ink pad over it. I didn't have brown embossing powder, but I do have sparkle embossing powder, so I sprinkled that over it. Then I embossed it. So it has a bronze with a slight pink hue (in my opinion). Which I think goes quite nicely with the overall look. You should be able to click on the picture to enlarge it to see it better. Hope you liked!!

Now I have to figure out a card for the blue strip on the first picture that says Just a note to go on.

A First

Today was the first day EVER for me to make scrambled eggs. Do they look okay? I wasn't sure if they were. Rebecca ate them though. All gone. But I'm not going to test them to make sure. I'm not sure if I cooked them long enough or did it right or anything. They look so disgusting to me. I think I did them wrong.

silly ewe

I did this card for the Monday challenge at Techno Stamper.

I don't know if I even like this card. It is kind of silly. But in some ways it is easier to send off this way. How awful is that?!

I embossed and colored with pencils the sheep. And I propped that whole rectangle with the brads and everything up on 3D foam squares (though you couldn't tell from the pic). I embossed in white the "thank ewe". Also, sadly, the "thank ewe" is kind of crooked. Sometimes I get a little quick to finish.

Steve bought me these flowers when I got home from Texas, TWO WEEKS ago!! There are still buds and only 1 bloom has died. I know they are not roses, but it is so wonderful to have fresh flowers at home.

Rock Band

Saturday night was my brother in law's birthday party. It was a Rock Band party. We didn't get home until 1am (thank you Steve). Rebecca didn't go to sleep until 12:30am. She is such a party girl. I was ready for bed way before she was. The picture and video were taken at 10:45pm.

You can see she turns around to make sure everyone is still watching her. Loves to be the center of attention.

Here is the card I made for Rich. The star is on a velvet paper that is so cool! I did the negative effect on my cuddlebug embossing folder which gives it the silver on the black paper. I used silver jumbo brads in the corner and crystal stickers for the rock.

I got my tooth pulled on Tuesday. Went in for the check up today and everything is looking good. Yay. RJ and I went to Livermore while I was recovering. Ashley took this cute pic of the cousin while we were there.
